Broken Wing

Nae's Nest —  April 13, 2012

So much  against us

So much we’ve missed

Confined to the nest

Unable to fly

Unable to sing

Constant pain

Broken wing

Feeling useless

Unable to please

You’ve been so good to me

Though I am diseased

*

Together

We weave this nest

And fight the thorns

And thistle

Later we hold

Each other

While you whistle

Softly to me

Until I nestle

*

The sun comes up

I no longer sing

My head goes down

To pray to the King

 Thanking Him

For your love

And for watching

Over my Dove

As I pray

And think of you

I can

No longer

Be so blue

I find myself "Dancing With Cancer", problem is...I can't dance. I stumble, bumble, and get pulled along. To keep my sanity, (humor me), I write short stories, a journal, musings and poetry....just about anything goes.

  3. What an amazing image and the words bring out more than its color. To love regardless of the issues involved–lovely and a little. I like it.

  4. Beautiful, Nae. Amazing graphic! I don’t know how you can find so many lovely illustrations, but they always seem to fit perfectly.
